The thread of experience is kilometres long; the thread of knowledge cannot be measured: the tradition, quality and elegance of handmade Italian fashion. A history of passion and dedication to work, fashion, details, design and quality. This is what you feel at the Romboli’s place since many years now; it is back in the 1950s and 60s, when Laura used to work at home as a knitter, supplying her products to hosiery manufacturers too. In the early 1972, Paolo started to help his mother Laura during his spare time and by the end of the same year, he decided to embark on a new adventure together with his wife Rosa. He registered at the Chamber of Commerce as a “sock knitter” and applied for a land lot in the industrial area of “Quattro” in the town of Forlì. For three years, he had been working at home in the narrow space below a staircase with four circular hosiery machines, and only later on he managed to build a proper factory building. After a couple of years, he transferred the business to the new building and, over time, the workshop continued to grow and today it boasts 16 employees and 50 circular hosiery machines.
The Calzificio Caveja has been run by the same family since 1972, and Paolo Romboli is still the owner of the company, together with his wife and two daughters. The Paolo Romboli trademark of baby and kids socks, named after his name, is well known throughout Italy, thanks to a network of 16 sales agents, as well as in the world, where it is distributed by a network of agents, distributors and importers. The extraordinary success achieved by Paolo and his family mostly comes from their specialization in high quality boys and girls socks and hosiery, and from the skilful hands of experienced Italian women who design, manufacture, embroider and package baby booties, boys socks, girls tights, outfits and fashion accessories for babies and children from 0 to 12 years. All creations are strictly made in Italy.
